The transformation of the old doorman Building (part of Aarhus University Hospital) into an open, inviting counseling centre for cancer patients.

Frank Gehry has transformed the old Building by only maintaining the old outer walls with their raw expression and kept the Building open from basement level to roof. This has composed a very dramatic difference in the lighting, accompanied by the also very dramatic wooden oversized columns, placed in a deconstructivistic - but elegant - manner.
The drama of the building beautifully resembles the dramatic change in the lifes of the cancer patients, feeling the contrast between deconstruction and life on their on body.
The flow and the total experience of the Building is very interesting and non-institutional.
